Smack.

That was the sound Sharon heard when she tripped at home and fractured her kneecap.

She was devastated.

Life was busy enough.

Between moving and social events and spending time with her kids, she did not have time for this injury.

But she knew PT would help.

Here is how she got back to pain free living:

Sharon followed her doctor’s order and laid low until she was ready to start therapy.

Once we started therapy, she agreed that we needed to focus on one thing:

Strength.

We started with standing up from a chair without hands.

Step ups on her stairs at home.

Modified squats.

Over the next few weeks, she started to feel stronger and more confident in her knee again.

I progressed her therapy to challenger her balance, coordination and stamina.

6 weeks into PT, Sharon was out of pain and, more importantly, understood the game plan going forward.
